    I'm reading all the 'things to know' about the upcoming Paper Mario: Sticker Star game, and.... it''s ruining everything for me. No experience? Attacks limited to how many stickers you have? STAGE-BASED OVERWORLD? This is not the Paper Mario I remember. After hearing how 'perfect' 1000-Year Door was, coming to this is like being reminded that nostalgia exists for a reason. Is this what 'soul-crushing disappointment' feels like?

    I know it's all pretty scary, but I tell you as the biggest Paper Mario fan around, relax! It's fun! (Or at least the start is.)

    Good to hear. But I have to say I'm still a bit disappointed in the fact that there's only 1 partner, and it feels like less of an RPG. And the overworld. But, I'm still buying it. The original N64 Paper Mario is one of my favorite games of all time.

    I honestly agree. I'm REALLY afraid of this game since I loved PM64 and TTYD.

    This sounds...different. I'm definitely not going to rush out and buy this game like I was planning to, but once I find it cheap enough I'll still give it a shot. It may not sound anything like Paper Mario or The Thousand Year Door, but I'd still like to think it'll turn out to be just as enjoyable.

    Hrm... The whole idea of the stickers sounds pretty cool actually, and I like the idea of having to have the foresight to conserve and learn to manage your stickers... That being said, I don't really like the idea that they are getting rid of pretty much... everything that makes an RPG and RPG >_> I mean, you might as well not call this game an RPG anymore as it sounds. Also, it really annoys me that you have only ONE companion. I mean, one of the things that made the other mario RPGs so enjoyable is that the companions added charm and personality that the voiceless mario inherently lacks... And with all due respect, that little crown thing doesn't look like it oozes personality :/ So yeah... this less than impresses me. But to be fair, I've yet to play a Paper Mario (Or any Mario RPG for that matter..) that I haven't liked, so I'm gonna give Nintendo the benefit of the doubt on this one, and trust that they know what they are doing.

    Partners is a serious concern, however They seem to be ditching it for the sake of the gameplay mechanic, it seems the stickers won't work with partners the same way it affects Mario when you think about it. Also they DID have a sticker which uses a koopa to hide in it's shell and Mario kicks it, which is pretty much what Koops and Kooper did and I hear there's a bob-bomb sticker, so there's that. Kersti did seem dull, and I wasn't impressed with her originally but Henry wasn't kidding when he said she's sassy. First off, she b*tches at Mario for "Causing this" and then wonders what "Mario would do", and if that's not sass, right before you fight Kamek, she calls him a "Hipster" so who knows, she probably won't be as deep as tippi(I don't think anyone will, she's too deep, just like SPM despite the criticism) but she does seem decent, if not hilarious.

    Well, again, I'm willing to keep an open mind since I've yet to play a Paper Mario, or an Intelligent Systems game I haven't liked. It's gonna take quite a bit of work for me to like Kersti though, the name alone is a bad start >_>

    I'm not so sure about this anymore, especially 10. I don't know if it's a legitimate concern or if i'm just nostalgic, but this is not getting me as excited as if it were like the original or thousand year door.

    I know, this game has a change of pace but intelligent systems have personality that they hopefully know what their doing. What pleases me is how what should be a weak, irritatingly easy battle concept turned much more deeper and harder with the need of being conservative, plus the fact that the game is built around the system itself. The map overworld really just makes it more like Super Mario RPG, which I honestly have no problem with as long as it stays with the paper Mario style of progressing/puzzle solving that the game kept showing from what I've seen. As for Dialog, the game already convinced me it's a 10/10 just like every other Paper Mario game(and SMRPG

    Honestly, just the fact that the Kuribo's Shoe might be in this makes me incredibly giddy. I hope there's some kind of sticker encyclopedia that give you details on the stickers.

    I'll play it regardless but the fact that all moves are based on the amount of stickers you have, won't that make it tedious? What if you have to use 3 stickers to kill 1 enemy and it only drops 1 sticker? What's the point of fighting at all. I would just speed run the whole game. Looks like it's going to be a very short game.

    You find stickers scattered thought the world that you can find and peel off, and by doing side missions, which play a bigger role now because that's the only way your gonna "Level up" , it does sound tedious, but the game is built around it, and as Henry said, it's much deeper than expected.

    Exploring was mentioned to be needed from what we heard and especially with word of "secret exits" and such, maybe your just early in the game but you'll probably run into some needs for it.

    I've never played a proper Paper Mario before (I don't think 'Super' on Wii counts?) so I've been interested in this for a while. Would anyone recommend that I play the other two first? (I hear they're good.) But anyway, the sticker-attack system sounds like the special attack system from Partners in Time which used consumable items rather than SP (unlike Bowser's Inside Story) which I actually think was a better system. However, is there not even a basic all-purpose jump/hammer attack? 'Cos there kinda needs to be, assuming you probably aren't earning about 20 stickers per second. Oh wait, they're stickers too? *facepalm* Otherwise, sounds pretty good, but like I said, since I haven't played the others I don't really have much of a benchmark in my mind. So I can't really complain. Oh and this being Bowser Jr's first Mario RPG appearance is debatable, since he was also in Partner's in Time and a massive jerk back then too. I say debatable because technically that Jr is Bowser himself, but whatever. I'm just happy he's in it.
