Nintendo has just announced a new Yoshi's Island sequel for the 3DS. While there are currently no exact details on title or release date, a video demo shown was shown off during today's Nintendo Direct broadcast, and we've received some screenshots that show off the gameplay.

It revealed that all the traditional Yoshi's Island gameplay (Baby Mario, egg throwing, ground pounds and all) is present and correct, along with a delicious new painted-looking version of the series' hand-drawn art style.

What do today's Nintendo Direct announcements mean? What else was revealed? Find out on Radar Reacts!

Wish it was 2D but I am glad all these incredible SNES games are getting deserved sequels.

The 3d sprites kinda look creepy...

This one excites me WAY more than the announcement of a Link to the Past Sequel, although, same as that one, I'm kinda bummed that they are forcing 3D graphics on us instead of improving on those beautifully animated 2D spites the original used.

It's a good think I'm playing through the Super Mario World games now, so when this game comes out I'll be ready.

Now a brand new generation of gamers can be introduced to the agony caused by Baby Mario's crying. :D

So much good news. Glad all the games can be downloaded. Year of Yoshi as well.
