Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (Wii U) livestream @ 3pm (PST)

Monster Hunter is a franchise that’s stupid popular in Japan, but it remains a niche series for Western audiences. Why is that? We hope to find out when we play Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on the Wii U this afternoon. We’re no experts on the colorful world of Monster Hunter, but once we throw ourselves into the fray against titanic creatures, it’s learn or die. Watch us take on colossal beasts and grind through pathetic whelplings, in the hopes of snagging some sweet crafting materials. Feel free to take this opportunity to guide us to victory (by offering tips in the chat) like some sort of disembodied guardian.

I don't understand why Monster Hunter's not as popular as it is in Europe. I think it's probably a Japanese thing, It's alot like Dragon's Dogma, you need to invest alot of time in it, collect hundreds of items, and sometimes its so hard it becomes really fustrating and even tedious, but when you cant kill a can bask in the sweaty glory of victory and be comforted with the knowledge that you can use the spoils of your victory to create new armours and weapons to become an even more powerful hunter! Its a frichen great game, it can last to over an hour per mission, and on the latest one on PSP I've probably clocked like 250hrs+ easily!
