PC gaming is about to be backed in a big way by major companies joining forces to give it a significant push.
Big boys including Microsoft, Intel and nVidia are forging the PC Gaming Alliance, which will be unveiled in full just prior to GDC in San Francisco next week.
Additional specific aims outside of the general push aren't known yet, but it's the second such major initiative to boost PC gaming, coming in the wake of Microsoft's own Games for Windows game plan.
According to Mercury News, "...the consortium will coordinate and expand those efforts [Games for Windows] to improve the experience of playing games on computers."
