We loved the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection when it released for the PlayStation 3 last November (check out our review here), and we assume we'll love the Metal Gear Solid HD collection when it releases for the PlayStation Vita this summer. We're a little upset that it won't include Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, since that was totally one of the best parts of the bundle, though we forgot about that sadness when we looked at the screenshots and remembered how excited we were to take two of the best Metal Gear Solid games on the go.

Plus, the Vita and PS3 versions can share data using TRANSFARRING (written in all caps for dramatic effect), so we're totally hyped to be able to TRANSFAR this summer when it comes out.

Take a look at the gallery above for shots of the two games. There's nothing really all that surprising, but it sure gets us pumped to wander around the jungle shooting and eating snakes.

Anyone know the reason why Peace Walker wont be included? That is poor!

Wikipedia says: The Playstation Vita version of the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection does not include Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker. Kojima Productions employee Sean Eyestone explained on the Kojima Productions Report that this was due to the fact that the original PSP version can already be downloaded on the PSN Store, that they should 'save their resources' and the Vita does a "pretty good job of upscaling Peace Walker anyway" Sounds lazy on their part, but I guess there isn't much we can do.

From the preview: "This summer you'll be able to take two of Solid Snake's adventures on the road with you using the PlayStation Vita." ...You guys know that only one of the adventures in this bundle includes Solid Snake, right? MGS2 has Solid Snake. MGS3 has "Naked Snake" aka Big Boss.

Damn, just a couple of years ago we thought that if a handheld games graphics were even close to the PS2's that it was amazing. Now, it's easy to put MGS3, still considered one of the best looking PS2 games of all time, on the Vita. I'm really hoping for a Shadow of the Colossus or God of War collection on this, maybe even (although it's unlikely) a Half-Life 1 or 2 port?

So do we need two copies of the game? Would it be too much to assume that Konami would give us the Vita copy if we have the PS3 copy?

Peace Walker won't be included? aw man. But I have my PSP copy on Vita (with 200 hours) and the trophies suck anyway so I guess it isn't a big loss.
