Snake steps out of the shadows for a PS3 excursion

Besides offering a first peep at a new-look, old-timer Snake in the middle of a war zone taking cover from patrolling soldiers and mech vehicles, this Metal Gear Solid 4 Guns of the Patriots trailer also provides another tantalising demonstration of the potential power of Sony's next-gen machine.

The game's creator, Hideo Kojima, put in an appearance at the Tokyo Game Show to personally show off the trailer and to confirm that it was indeed running in real-time on PS3 development tools by pausing the footage and navigating the camera around the environment.

We'll bring you more news on MGS4 as we get it, but until then check out the movie and be utterly amazed.
