Mass Effect 2 Arrival DLC launch trailer arrives

Mass Effect 2's final DLC episode, Arrival, is available today on all platforms. The add-on costs $7, and tasks Shepard with recovering an undercover agent who has details on the Reapers' imminent invasion of Earth, setting up the events of Mass Effect 3.

You may have already seen the DLC's launch trailer, but if not, now's a good time to watch it, because the video is right here and you probably have a couple minutes to kill.

Why didn't this come out a week sooner when I was on Spring Break?! I MUST PLAY THIS SOMEHOW.

Yeah that trailer made me stay up late at night to add the download to my que. Unfortunately It wasn't up so I went to bed, turning out to be up 30 minutes after I went to be around 6AM. Doh, the wait downloading this is killing me, goes slower during the day.

^ Wow was this written by a fifth grader?

@hybr1dgamerx- you really don't want to see why I hate ME2 form rabbles of it stealing the plot of Gears 2 to awkward shooting, it last a page and every-time I write it someone who likes ME2 (usually 12) replies,'ME2 is teh bestest gaem evar and you r gay' so there's no point, i'm now fine being labeled a troll for being in the minority, also your name is incredibly stupid. Mine is to but Microsoft said it and it doesn't have 'x' or numbers in it

@derangedmonkey- do you not remember the start of me2? shepherd died but came back to life so it really isnt out of the question to happen again

@derangedmonkey - Well it's already been said that you can't import your save into ME3 if your shep died, so I assume you also can't play this DLC either, as it takes place at the end of the game. Took me roughly an hour to finish the whole thing. Looks like everyone has a similar opinion: a bit short, but essential into linking the story to the final game in the trilogy. Won't post spoilers, but it will be interesting to see how much of a difference it will make to the third game for people who don't have this variable added to their save file.

wait a second.... what happens if your shepherd died at the end of the game? I'm also intrigued to see how they do that in the third game

@p0wnd-maybe if you explained why you didn't like mass effect 2 than maybe you wont come off as a troll...still sound like a total troll though

@fetalspray: I have different views, must be trolling, GET HIM
  • KolbitosFruitJuice - March 29, 2011 9:20 p.m.

@p0wnd - hahaha I seriously pity you. You missed out on some epic shit

    @ p0wnd: stop trolling.

DLC took me about two hours on Insanity. Short but then again they've all been so I judged it by what it added. Arrival is not as good as LotSB but the ending implications were enormous and I felt it was worth it.

Looks terrible, but then again Mass Effect 2 was terrible, everyone looked like they were in constant ejaculation face
  • Redeater - March 29, 2011 7:49 p.m.

I don't know if this was worth it. I blew threw it in about half an hour or so and its about 5-6 dollars. On the other hand I rented Bulletstorm for $8 and have to say it is a well deserved 10. At least The Arrival has a nice intro for ME3.

  • DrRock - March 29, 2011 7:17 p.m.

Totally forgot the DLC came out today. Need to make sure my save file is still there before I buy it. Might wait and see a review of this before I drop the imaginary MS money points.
