Liverpool win the Champions League...

Friday 4 May 2007
Since professional sports-hacks have started using videogames to aid their own predictions - see ESPN's recent bout on Fight Night Round 3 to decide Saturday's big boxing match - we thought we'd weigh in on this weekend's vital Premiership games. Oh, and we'll see if Liverpool can 'do the double' over Milan once again in the Champions League final, too.

PES says that both Man United and Chelsea will play out gritty, low-scoring draws to keep the title chase alive. First up, Man U run out in a 1-1 draw with Manchester City, crippled by a ludicrously lapse moment from Van de Sar, as he steps over a Carrick backpass that trundles into United's own net. Meanwhile Chelsea emerge 0-0 from a bitty, dull matchup with Arsenal. Sounds drearily believable to us.

Finally, Liverpool head to Athens for their clash with AC Milan in the Champions League final. It's tight, with neither side making chances - the half time stats are a depressing read, with just a single shot on goal from either team. However, a deflected free-kick in the second half sees Pennant one-on-one with Dida, and the winger cooly slots home the winning goal into the bottom corner. See below for the match highlights.
