Link's Crossbow Training

You get what you pay for

Crossbow Training is a very simple lightgun game wrapped in the trappings of Zelda; it recycles its levels and enemies, ripping its graphics, settings and music from Twilight Princess. That particular rendition of Hyrule is one with which almost every Wii owner is familiar with so it’s with warmth in your heart you’ll re-enter Link’s world, this time blasting your way through the towns and villages with a semi-automatic crossbow.

Ultimately, you get what you pay for - and since you won’t pay much for Crossbow Training, don’t feel too bitter about the game’s static and Spartan presentation of Hyrule as compared to Twilight Princess. The menus do look nice, but you won’t see much of them while blazing through this half an hour adventure. It’s this brevity that appeals to the score-hungry, one-more-try gamer that lives inside us all. Hitting the targets is easy, but finding the time to hit valuable pots, scarecrows and other background objects is where it’s at in terms of points.

A tip for any1 who wants the game but not the Wii Zapper. I found the game used (but in new condition) at a GameStop for $4.48 (total price with Washington state tax).
