League of Legends roundtable - Is Ziggs worth buying?

This week's patch not only adds a new champion to League of Legends, but it also makes Ziggs, the Hexplosives Expert, free to play for seven days! Unsure if he's worth messing around with? Don't worry, just check out our League of Legends Roundtable, above, to see if he's right for you, and be sure to check back later this week to get our verdict on Nautilus, the Titan of the Depths.

Every few weeks, Riot Games launches a new champion for League of Legends, and the community immediately erupts into endless debate. Some will always think that anything new is overpowered, while others will complain that the new Champions need massive buffs in order to compete with the older ones that players have already mastered. We feel like ending that debate, one Champion at a time, and we'll be tackling every new champion alongside our good friends at PCGamer to help you decide whether or not the new Champions are worth buying.

And be sure to leave us feedback as to things you want us to discuss or show off while we play these new characters - your opinion is valuable to us, and we want to make sure we give you the absolute best League of Legends coverage we can.

Move Zigg for great justice. Take off every Zigg. But really I think he's a pretty solid AP hero, I agree his satchel charge is a little underwhelming but his current damage output and AP scaling more than makes up for it. I'm with Hollander on impending nerf. I wonder if Riot purposely releases these AP heroes OP so that people jump on it then roll out the quiet nerfs 2 weeks later. I remember when Swain was released they completely remade his E move within a few hours... I was so disappointed by that.

Definitely going to get nerfed. If the player is skilled, he will wreck any game. Not really sure how Riot thought this guy was balanced in the first place. Great harrass in any lane, especially mid (his bouncing bomb can go all the way across the lane, and his minefield can block any escape route), does tons of damage, and farms effectively.

Completely agree that he's going to get nerfed. His AP scaling is ridiculous, to say the least. Especially his ultimate, it hits like a train with a relatively low cooldown. I think it's like a .9 AP ratio...lategame you demolish teams with it.

I think they were worried about releasing another Viktor and that's why he's so good.

I was thinking the same thing about the jester in Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. Already bought this guy.

I agree, this video is way more informative than the Champion Spotlight that Phreak does. I'm looking forward to the new guy's video since I don't like to buy champions until they've been around for a bit (to avoid the inevitable nerfs/buffs) but at the same time, I do love tanky junglers. Especially when they look like Big Daddy.

Nice. I'm new to the game, and these videos have been extremely helpful to me. I don't care if he gets nerfed, he's ranged and uses hardly any mana, but type of champion.

I had the opportunity to play as Ziggs when he became free, and I can definitely see a nerf incoming. A well placed ultimate can devastate a team and his bouncing bomb range makes it difficult to escape from him. The only place where I think a buff would be good is satchel charge, the cooldown seems way too long on earlier levels.

I enjoy these. Really considering buying him, but that's probably just cover for the fact that I will buy him.
