Jennifer Jason Leigh joins David Lynchs Twin Peaks

Twin Peaks has added another star name to its growing ensemble, with Deadline reporting that Jennifer Jason Leigh has joined David Lynch’s cult telly revival. Her casting has yet to be officially announced by Showtime, but the actress was papped on set filming a nighttime scene with Kyle MacLachlan.

As expected, no details are known as to who Leigh will be playing, as is the case with her fellow newcomers Balthazar Getty, Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, and Robert Knepper. At present we know that MacLachlan and Sheryl Lee will be reprising their original characters, with other familiar faces expected to join proceedings.

According to the report, Lynch also has his eye on another potential new arrival, with Naomi Watts apparently on the director’s wish-list. The pair do have previous experience to draw on, with Watts starring in Lynch’s Mulholland Drive back in 2001. Could a reunion be on the cards? We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed.
