Highlight of the Week: Skyrim's rocket bear

Hang about, didn't we have a Skyrim clip for Highlight of the Week last week? Yes. But in terms of providing lolworthy content (as well as awesome), Skyrim is pure gold. It would be madness to stop mining it just because our first strike yielded enough to make a small brooch. This vein is deep - and could keep us going until at least 2013. This week? The fantastic result of a paralysis spell meeting with a mountain bear.

We applaud papagoja on YouTube for capturing this wonderful moment.

I bet PETA would love to see this.

Unfortunately, my experience with Skryim has been bug-free. I miss the Oblivion launch on PC. That was the funniest week of my life.

Good luck getting the bear pelt on that one.

I wish I could have captured my epic battle with a frost dragon last night. He glitched down the cliffside as I gave chase ending with a final confrontation in a very tiny valley. That shit was crazy. I'm starting to think that Bethesda left bugs so we can experience all of this insanity.

How come I never get any bugs with these games? This would be awesome!

The bear rolled down the mountain, the bear rolled down the mountain...

Why not just link to the actual YouTube video instead of re-uploading it with shittier quality? As someone who uploads videos I despise when people do stuff like this. It's pointless and only serves to steal attention from the original creator.

It's so they can make us watch 30-second ads before letting us view a 43-second video. I like GR, but the way they handle ads is really poor.

  • ObliqueZombie - November 18, 2011 8:23 a.m.

  • Alex Byrom - November 18, 2011 8:17 a.m.

HA! By the way whats with your media player? Why is the no HD button?
  • Crypto140 - November 18, 2011 12:22 p.m.

How well do you think that would work on these media players?
  • jasoncarter - November 18, 2011 8:15 a.m.

That is some serious epic crap right there, I need to try that with my mage.
  • Boomer1992 - November 18, 2011 8:11 a.m.

That is awesome. I want to go home so I can play it now.
  • ZhugeLiang - November 18, 2011 8:06 a.m.

How do you guys capture all these moments? Do you just find out how to duplicate them after the fact, or do you capture all your footage from playthroughs and just pick out the best bits that you find?
  • alphaman - November 18, 2011 8:27 a.m.

"Always be frapsing" is key. (Though I don't myself, and couldn't with Skyrim)
  • alphaman - November 18, 2011 8:28 a.m.

Though this is actually easily recreated, saw a youtube vid on reddit of someone doing this to a troll, in 2 easy steps: fear the enemy so it runs down the mountain, for momentum. Then paralyze it and it'll keep moving, but with the ragdoll physics it'll roll.
