Highlight of the Week: Rotting zombies, mouldy script

There are quite a few things wrong with Dead Island, but thanks to the raft of technical issues at play, one problem which isn't often focused upon is its terrible script and somewhat patchy acting. So we thought we'd focus on that problem with this week's Highlight.

I suspect this is Cam 'Liquid Snake and a million others' Clarke in this here audio-diary (accompanying animation by myself). I'm a big fan of Cam Clarke, but there's absolutely no way he could have polished this dialogue-turd.

"Cam 'Liquid Snake and a million others' Clarke" I think you mean Leonardo...the teenage turtle. Of mutant ninja fame.

"The door appears to be ajar..." Nope, I'm pretty sure it's a plank of wood. "GUH GUH GUH!" Troll 2, eat your heart out.

"There's blood everywhere" Hope this is not Chris' blood.

I like the way the lamp made no sound when he bashed her head in with a f**king lamp

Holy hell that was terrible. That might have been worse than some of Barry's lines from the original RE.

It was pretty wooden but we're hardly in 'master of unlocking' territory here.
  • db1331 - September 9, 2011 8:51 a.m.

I was thinking more along the lines of "I hope this isn't Chris' blood" territory.

A little more emotion and it could have been an old timey radio drama!
  • Primed - September 9, 2011 9:27 a.m.

And now. The Adventures of Herbert Daring Dashwood! (and his stalwart ghoul manservant Argyle)

LOL Yes, it made me think of that, too. :)
