  • Orionthefirst - March 7, 2009 8:18 p.m.

This article is crap. Master Chief is obviously Marky Mark!
  • thebigtarget1 - March 7, 2009 6:46 p.m.

i dont think it is not master chief that makes no sense...
  • danpascooch - March 7, 2009 4:21 p.m.

Ok, you're wrong, there are uncanny similarities to MC, but he can't be the MC, the books disprove it, you may not care about the books, but Bungie does, however, im not an idiot, and I have one theory that may offer a middle ground and fit with the books MC was taken at age five and trained to be a spartan (1 million additional reasons he cant be Forge are in the books) Every so often in boot camp he remembers small details about his mother, but NEVER his father, in the timeline in Halo wars it is confirmed that John Forge has a family, see where im going with this? Seargent John Forge is NOT Master Chief, rather, John Forge Sr. is Master Chiefs FATHER NOW case closed

well if you think about it, how was this article NOT serious? the only hint of sarcasm was just the plain fact that it was on GamesRadar, which is known for its sarcasm Lizzie states that the novels arent canon (...) and claims false things WITHOUT ever showing any sense of humor or sarcasm and the last two words, are clear signs that she was serious all im saying is, even if this is a joke article, it dosent seem like it at all
  • Elbo444 - March 7, 2009 8:18 a.m.

    PS. Master Chief is MacGyver
  • Reaverx - March 6, 2009 11:59 p.m.

I wish my name was John Matchmaking
  • SaulFidgeonGuy - March 6, 2009 11:24 p.m.

sarcasm doesnt work well on the internet it has to be made rally obvious and in GR make it work in a lot of articles but this one was missing that same sarcasm so i thought it was serious my mistake also it was pretty similar to other articles where they siad ther was gonna be a halo 4 no halo 4!
  • GoldenMe - March 6, 2009 11:08 p.m.

Serious comments for a joke article. You guys should get off the internet and watch some comedy. And, Lizzie. I still love you for this article. <3
  • TrevorISme - March 6, 2009 10:56 p.m.

Jesus after reading these comments im starting to lose faith in the internet, its a joke, its a good article, just because you dont think its true doesnt mean you should come in and shit all over it, it was a great, fun article and i liked reading it, if you didnt GTFO
  • xXHaloKillerXx - March 6, 2009 9:42 p.m.

Cool but i read the book Fall of Reach and First Strike by Eric Nylund and John was a kid when he was already traing to become a Spartan.I think also many other people said this so sorry for repeating ti.Great article like always though GR :)
  • a_citizen - March 6, 2009 9:33 p.m.

no, no, bungie helped the writers (at least eric nylund) write the books, it's really interesting what you've come up with, but the authors didn't just say "oh, let's write a halo book and make it all up!" no, bungie was breathing down their necks the whole time.
  • P3N15 - March 6, 2009 9:12 p.m.

    > im back again to shatter another theory, now understand that im only doing this because im a HUGE fan of halo its just like that mass effect controvesy on fox, this is how i feel anyways, they dont CLONE the spartan candidates, they FLASH clone them, this means that the clones will eventually die off in a quick period. NOT to mention that the master chief was born at 2511, forge was born at 2502. how would they know that forge would be such a success when he was only NINE years old?
  • IronicBob - March 6, 2009 8:34 p.m.

Hang on, here's his official site.
  • Speedsk8r - March 6, 2009 7:17 p.m.

I have a theory which I think is pretty good. I believe John Forge is John-117's clone(Now if you've read the first book you'll understand where I'm coming from). The UNSC started taking kids from familys and sent them to become spartans, and away to a void parents saying "the army kidnapped my kid" they would create a clone for a replacement. Since this article has back bone on its theory it would make sense if it was Master Chief's clone.
  • P3N15 - March 6, 2009 5:27 p.m.

"The games are the only thing we consider canon" arent you being a bit carried away? the books are probably more canon than the games, bungie states that the stories are in canon. yeah i know, im overreating, but come on. cloning in the halo universe? why not clone 500 master chiefs? btw "Forge" is the name of the map maker in Marathon, a previous Bungie game, and they stated that it was just a NOD to that, nothing more if this gets mentioned on TalkRadar, i know im going to be known as one of "the assholes" but im willing to risk that for my dedication of halo. im sure some guys will understand, its like if i told Charlie Barret that Gabriel Knight actually takes place on another planet. i probably wouldnt be doing this if not for the last two words. so, you know what? CASE OPENED, COREECTED, CLOSED AGAIN. ...sorry for being a jerk
  • GamesRadarJoeMcNeilly - March 6, 2009 3:16 p.m.

Gosh, internets, at the site of a pretty girl your sarcasm detectors just stop working. Could you really not tell that the Chief/Forge thing was a joke? Like, we can't believe they made a Halo game without Master Chief, so we inserted him into the story thru sheer wishful thinking and wacky Photoshops because its the only way to make Halo Wars interesting? Or maybe its just because we love Master Chief so unrelentingly that we see him everywhere. You know, now I think about it the guy who bagged my groceries last night looked just like... @ Tomsta666: It's called "Left 4 Dead" ;-)
  • SaulFidgeonGuy - March 6, 2009 12:40 p.m.

also they couldn't have cloned forge because it's stated in the books that cloning entire humans doesn't work, they just die of diseases after a few months and even if you don't believe the books, there's enough evidence in the games: why hasn't anyone else been cloned? captain keyes? his daughter?
