GRAW 2 Multiplayer Strategy Blowout - Part One

Favorite Map - "Hydrodam"

What is the best game type for the map?

I think that Team Last Man Standing plays out best on this map.The many sniper angles, CQB areas under the main level and multiple pathways make for some great tense games.

What is the best team strategy?

The key to this map is team balance. While it's tempting for everyone to take sniper rifles and go for the long kill, it's best to organize your team into a mix of Snipers and Rifleman, with a couple of Gunners and Grenadiers to lock down key chokepoints. You need to secure the various routes through good angles of fire, and once they are yours, advance on the enemy team.Stay mobile. Sitting in one place too long on this map is an invitation for a sniper's bullet!

What is the best soldier class?

Generally, a mix between Snipers and Riflemen are best on this map, as the combat tends to either be at extreme range or in tight quarters.Gunners and Grenadiers will suffer from a lack of range and mobility, although one or two on a well-coordinated team can help out a lot.Playing as a Rifleman, move fast, using the lower decks or the walkway on the front of the dam to close the range to the enemy, using the railing for cover from sniper fire. As a Marksman, the large windows overlooking the dam are inviting, but just remember everyone knows about them. The towers along the reservoir side of the dam provide some nice nooks to get some shots off.Once you get a kill, relocate, because you can be sure someone will be looking for you.

What is the best weapons loadout?

For Snipers, I've found that the one-shot kill power of the .50 cals, like the M107 and AS-50, really help on this map, because often times you only have an angle for one shot, and you need to make it count. The lighter sniper rifles don't fare as well here. For Rifleman, a carbine with good scope, like the RX4 Storm, Mk14 EBR, or the SA-80 fare well, just don't be tempted to try and go head-to-head with the Snipers on this map. While you are angling for a hit at extreme range, they can just zoom in on your face and drop you.

What is the best use of the terrain?

Cover, cover, cover! The concrete barriers provide lots of protection as you advance, so it's a good idea to stay crouched behind it.If you start taking fire, don't be shy to drop prone and relocate behind the barriers or railings to try another approach instead of trying to fight it out when you don't know where your attacker is.Be wary of the cars on the top deck of the dam.A heavy sniper rifle can blow them up with just a few shots, turning that cover into a deadly fireball.
