Grasshopper announces iPhone game for Japanese tsunami relief

Grasshopper Manufacture, the company behind cult hits like Flower, Killer7, and No More Heroes, has announced a new iPhone game. We know it has something to do with frogs, but more important is the title's real-life mission: to help the ongoing support efforts in Japan.

So far Grasshopper has only revealed the name and logo of the impending iPhone game - Frog Minutes.

Full details will emerge at a press event in Japan on March 30. The event, which is also serving as a fundraising kickoff for the country's disaster relief efforts, will be streamed live on in English. Then, after the game goes live, sales will be donated to the relief efforts as well.

It's also noteworthy that Frog Minutes will be Grasshopper's first iPhone release. The company's other big project is Shadows of the Damned, to be released by Electronic Arts. New footage of that title will also debut at the March 30 event.

While I'm sure they'll make an awesome iPhone game, I have to confess slight disappointment if that's it for the game announcements. Come on, we all wanted No More Heroes 3...

Flower sun and rain is a much older grasshopper game.

I thought the name of that game was "Flower, Sun and Rain" or something? Isn't "Flower" made by thatgamecompany? This is a very nice thing Grasshopper is doing, though. I hope it does well.
