Get your free beta key for 8Realms now!

Like Runescape? Fancy playing Jagex's new game 8Realms for free? Well here's your chance! Every day this week, PC Gamer will be giving away beta keys (up to 50,000 of 'em!), allowing gamers to play the full game for free for a period of time. The game is browser-based and sees you building an empire through eight stages of history (hence the name, see?), expanding your kingdom by trading and battling with neighbouring players, and by improving the culture of your cities. Check out the trailer here, then read on for how to get on it.

For today's code, all you need to do is visit PC Gamer by clicking here, then sign up for a Jagex account and log in using the codeword. The first 50,000 people to do so will gain access to the beta. What are you waiting for? There's a land to conquer!

I already got my beta key just by playing Runescape :P

Was slightly interested by the title. Clicked it. Read first line "Like Runescape?" No. Bye. Not to say I didn't use to play that game. Pretty sure everyone has played it.

Has anyone noticed the secret society thing in the trailer seems to be ripped off from The Secret World?

I love me some Runescape, but I'm not going to play 8 Realms because looks like it's just another game like Evony and Lord of Ultima. They are fun at the beginning, but I tire of them very quickly when you have to wait many real-time hours for some building to upgrade. Also there is nothing to do except build building, and make armies. Hopefully, Jagex do something a little different with 8 Realms though.
