GamesCom Asura's Wrath trailer is angry... in space!

Along with a new set of screenshots, Asura’s Wrath has a fresh trailer for GamesCom 2011. It starts out slow, as Asura and his former master take some time off from their deity duties to enjoy a dip in a hot springs. But don’t be fooled — the bright red man bodies are just bait to lure you in before exploding violence in your face.

Bookending the trailer with words you might see on a sitcom: “previously on…” and “to be continued,” makes us wonder if the game will use similar narrative devices. We understand Asura’s Wrath is primarily about action, but even if the story takes a backseat, it might have a lot to say.

There’ s a bit where the enormous pair of sanguine warriors even seem a bit misty eyed, as they reminisce over past battles with enormous animals. But before we get too caught up, one or the other glances at the moon, and suddenly they’re fighting in space (we don’t know why), and Asura is stabbed across approximately 238,857 miles, the distance from the Moon to the Earth. Which, of course, only makes him angrier.

Asura’s Wrath is due out late March of next year for Xbox 360 and PS3.
