The first screenshots and artwork for Wolfenstein: The New Order have been posted online by CVG World. Bethesda announced the series reboot yesterday alongside a not-very-revealing teaser trailer. Set for release in the fourth quarter of 2013, the shooter is in development for PC, current and next-gen consoles at MachineGames, which is largely staffed by talent that worked on games including The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena and The Darkness.
According to GameSpot, the title takes place in Europe in an alternate reality 1960 in which the Nazis won World War II. Players will reprise the role of American war hero B.J. Blazkowicz as he attempts to launch an “impossible counter-offensive” using "super weapons" that the Nazis have used to take over the planet.
