First look at Bleach: Soul Ignition for the PlayStation 3

Sony has just launched an official site for Bleach: Soul Ignition. It’s certainly not the first game based on the popular manga and anime series. But it’s the first one for the PlayStation 3. Little is revealed about the title besides its expected Japan release date in 2011. However, early screenshots show main characters Ichigo, Rukia, and Ishida in action.

It also seems that Ichigo and company will be battling the Espada in Las Noches. If this is the case, it looks like Bleach: Soul Ignition may skip the filler and dive straight into some of the best battles that occur later on in the manga series.

there's a chance this could not suck. It's always nice to have a anime game thats not a fighter.
  • GamesRadarTylerNagata - November 15, 2010 9:53 p.m.

@n00b it would be an action RPG, of course.
  • n00b - November 15, 2010 9:53 p.m.

  • TNK2 - November 15, 2010 9:52 p.m.

I hope everyone here knows: 1. That the Bleach series on Sony systems have been very popular and well received, but NONE of them have never left Japan. I hope that Eighting is developing this, but this doesn't look like a PvP fighter. 2. It is no where said that Eighting is developing this (They are the developers of the whole Heat the Soul series and published by Sony of Japan. They are also the devs of TvC and many other good games) 3. Sony has not even published a single Bleach game in America. Sega has published Bleach games in America and Japan, but in America why is it just Sega publishing them? License issues? I'm positive Sega publishes the Bleach games on Nintendo consoles, kind of like how Tomy (on Nintendo consoles) and CyberConnect2 (Sony consoles) do the Naruto games

Man this looks awesome. I hope it dosent suck balls like all those naruto games.
  • Blasto - November 15, 2010 8:16 p.m.

So what are the chances of this getting a western release?
  • MatthewFerris - November 15, 2010 8:16 p.m.

The only Bleach game I have played is Dark Souls on the DS, which is probably my favourite fighting game on the DS, and would hold up fine even without the license. Let's hope they don't mess this up.
  • GamesRadarTylerNagata - November 15, 2010 8:14 p.m.

I'm still waiting for a game based on Golden Boy.
  • IAmARobotWhoTurnsIntoATruckAndIFindNoLevityInThis - November 15, 2010 8:12 p.m.

Why doesn't anything except the most mainstream animes get games made based on them? Now Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei - the game, is what should happen, and not Naruto, Bleach and Dragon Ball Z getting countless games. i hate life
  • Moondoggie1157 - November 15, 2010 8:09 p.m.

I really hope they don't ruin this... Games based on any manga/anime series haven't always been the best, I haven't played any of the other Bleach games, but this one sparks some interest.
