Lets hope Lucid Games is a successful Phoenix from these rather depressing flames

This is exactly what Call of Duty is turning into. Same with what Guitar Hero turned into. Kiddies don't see it- all they see is "the name on the cover." They don't consider the developers, the inspirations, the time it takes to CRAFT a great game. They want 'the new version' and they want it 'every year'. Look at how inspirational Madden is. Or, to go back to it, how inspired the last 5 Guitar Hero games were. Harmonix made something amazing... and Activision killed the entire genre. And I thought Blur was a blur. It came out at the same time as Split/Second and I loved S/S. After playing the two demo's, it was S/S completely for me. And I don't want to blame BC for that mess. I really love the PGR series and Geometry Wars. Hell- I thought The Club was awesome... but when you have a parent company breathing over your neck with a bunch of pencil pushing penny counters instead of gamers who understand what "fun" is really about... nobody should be surprised.

Wow. Huge freakin sad face. Don't even know what to say. Activision has really been fucking up lately. They keep this up and they might find themselves losing a lot of money.

I honestly didn't like Blur, I much preferred Split Second but I loved everything else Bizarre did. Activision just had to ruin another good developer. I would laugh though if the old heads of Bizarre form a new studio and make the next PGR :-)
