This article was made as part of "The Ryan Taljonick Twelve Step Program to Having a Normal Gaming Relationship with League of Legends" otherwise known as TRTTSPHNGRLOL. ....I think this was step seven? Write an article about how even the professionals in the game you like can be complete arses.

It sounds like eSports is nothing more than a really young, really raw organization. Once everyone agrees to a common rule set, only then will it be able to slowly grow. It just takes time, even the NFL took over a decade before it became a respectable league.

The NFL is respectable? Even as a non-fan I hear a story at least once a month about how they're trying to keep people from finding out more about how badly they handle long-term concussion problems or how people get fired for being pro-gay marriage or how some player is being charged with murder.

Your last two points are beyond the NFL, they're being dealt with in all sports. If you're referencing the former Vikings punter, Chris Kluwe, here's what I believe: When you are adamant about something as much as he is, it can affect your reasoning when things don't go your way. The Vikings ended up with the same production from another player for far less than what they would have had to pay Kluwe. It's a typical business decision. As for the concussions, I can't really argue that, but what I originally meant by respectable is how the league went from a loosely organized bunch, such as where teams made their own schedules, and crime was a big problem, to a league that is 100% structured in everything it does. This more or less applies to every major league, MLB, NBA, etc. I just chose the NFL because it's by far the most popular of them all (in America at least). The difference in people who care about the NFL compared to eSports is where my definition of "respect" comes from. If you're from the U.S. (which I won't assume), then I'm sure you know someone who'll be watching the playoffs this weekend. I know I'll be watching.

Oh, no doubt. It'll take time for sure.
