Call of Duty Black Ops 2 was going along just great, dominating the gaming news world, and then boom! The Elder Scrolls Online shows up to steal its thunder, and now TESO is all we can think about. Day and night.
Until today though, it was just a logo and a general idea. Today the news avalanche has begun, with the official reveal trailer launching this morning, and leaked details showing up later on.
Here's what we know so far: As was revealed yesterday, the game will take place all across the TES world of Tamriel, with a few zones being withheld so they can be unleashed in later expansions. The story will take place about 1,000 years before the events of Skyrim, in a time when the world is in a bit of chaos, and the Imperial City has no official owner.
It sounds as though this may be where PvP is centered. The rumors say that PvP battles could be up to 100 vs 100 in a competition to take over the Imperial City, with the conquerors able to crown their mightiest warriors as emperor.
The NeoGAF thread also says the game has been in full development since 2007 by a team of 250 people, indicating that the title may already be significantly far along in development. There's a boatload of other details in the thread, but as these are still unconfirmed, we'll spare you the entire list.
The full, official rundown will be available in the July issue of Game Informer.
