Download of the Week: Now PS3 owners can explore the twisted world of Limbo

Platform: PS3 | Publisher: Playdead | Developer: Playdead | Price: £9.99/$12.99

All our downloads are piped in with the lightning-quick Virgin Media 50Mb Broadband...

The phrase 'platform exclusive' should be read as 'will probably come out on the other machine with extra content in the near future, maybe' and Limbo is one such case. The much lauded platform/puzzler has made the leap from Xbox 360 to PS3 with erm, one tiny piece of additional content. But regardless of the insignificant slither of new stuff, Limbo is still a must play in it's original state. Check out Dave's feature/review for further proof of why it's ace.

The most atmospheric and affecting game of this generation thus far, and one of the most subtly clever in terms of design, Limbo is essential whether you’re passionate about the development of games as an artistic medium or just appreciate sharply-honed 2D platforming. In short, BUY IT!

Limbo is 15$ for non ps+. Also Old world Blues is brilliant.

Unless the price has dropped in the last few days, or you're quoting the PSPlus price, I think it's $14.99. A little too steep for me right now, while I'm playing Outland. Two games full of black at once is too much for me.

Awesome! Now bring on 'Splosion Man.

Maybe I'm just imagining it, but for some reason I suspect that Download of the week maaaay be sponsored by Virgin broadband? Perhaps it's just me though. Anyhoo, I downloaded the trial yesterday, and it does look pretty badass (more engaging than Braid), but at £10 (7 until tomorrow for me, activated PS+ late :P) it's a little too steep. I may check it out on Steam.

I have been dying to play this. I think I will wait to get it on PC though.
  • EwoksTasteLikeChicken - July 22, 2011 2:02 p.m.

I had no idea that the end of this game would affect me as much as it did, one of my favorite XBLA games.
  • Pocotron - July 22, 2011 1:55 p.m.

Don't forget Old World Blues for New Vegas! Probably some of the best DLC released this year!
  • ConfidentSheep - July 22, 2011 1:50 p.m.

About time! But what is the slither of new stuff?
