“If Darksiders I were the moon,
Darksiders II would be earth,” says Vigil Games producer Ryan
Stefanelli, describing the scope of the deathly sequel in the latest
behind-the-scenes trailer. See how the studio plans to fill that extra
space – and why the Dead Plains isn't as depressing as it sounds –
in THQ's “Behind the Mask: Death's World” video:
Arriving June 26, Darksiders II will
indeed expand upon Vigil Games' original; introducing a new lead
character, more room to breath (figuratively speaking), and an
abundance of combat options for players.
“Character
customization is probably the one biggest thing that we have in this
one,” said designer Haydn Dalton, in our claws-on preview. “It’s
the thing that really differentiates it from the first [game], the
ability to apply loot in different ways and use the statistics to
change the way Death plays.”
Last
week, THQ announced it is sweeting its pre-order pot by
upgrading all regular orders to Limited Editions at no extra cost.
Those who take the offer will be treated with a free pass to
Darksiders II's first DLC, Argul's Tomb, when it becomes available. Little is known about this
“Argul” and his “Tomb”, but if it's as intriguing as the
environments showcased above, we're open to doing a little digging.
Darksiders
II will roam PS3, Xbox 360, and PC on June 26 in North America,
and June 29 in Europe.
