Hmm, Interesting. Y'know, I honestly wasn't paying much attention to this game, but most reviews for it sound more than positive for it, and hey, if the story is worth it, I may give it a try sooner than later ^^

Play the demo, its the funnest 10 hours I have had with an RPG in quite sometime.
  • Doctor_Pancakes - January 8, 2014 6:36 p.m.

    Just about to!
  • Jackonomics2.0 - January 8, 2014 3:56 p.m.

Yeah well Reggie was constantly reminding you about it every single Nintendo direct because people bitch about localizations.
  • BladedFalcon - January 8, 2014 4:11 p.m.

Watching nintendo directs are for chumps. I just wait and let game sites tell me the relevant info.
  • Doctor_Pancakes - January 8, 2014 6:35 p.m.

Funny, Nintendo Directs are all I really look forward to news wise for this industry.
  • Doctor_Pancakes - January 8, 2014 6:42 p.m.

Woops that reply below was meant for here.
  • shawksta - January 8, 2014 6:48 p.m.

Depends if your going on multiple sites as some don't really tell you everything. I dont even think people remember a new chibi robot was announced last month( then again we have Dynasty Warriors Zelda Edition Boogaloo people were more focusing discussing about). Being Eastern time and not having Nintendo Directs at 6am like everybody else in Pacific gives me an advantage :P and watching the trailer now you know exactly what happened. Everybody in the goddamn stream believed Kirby was gonna be in Mario Kart till Rosalina wrekt his shit. Then again this is for the %15 a Nintendo direct throws that thing at you, otherwise its usually not that exciting anyway when they discuss shit we already know.
  • BladedFalcon - January 8, 2014 8:49 p.m.

Yes well, even visiting a couple different sites is much more efficient than sitting trough the entire boring ass presentation... And really, i don't know how Nintendo fans put u with iwata's stilted performances, he's so awkward and his pauses infuriating. I KNOW others might not find it as irritating, which is why they watch these things, but I personally can't stand it.
  • shawksta - January 8, 2014 9:19 p.m.

Pretty much and its easily understandable, it is hard to actually stand Iwata's pauses at first. Also none of the sites seem to tell you about what i said about the Demo being its own thing, its these little things about the presentation that dont get much coverage. But its still a little thing and having people tell you is good enough.
  • Redeater - January 8, 2014 8:11 p.m.

People WATCH those things??? They run like, an hour long! Not only that but they place the trailers right beside the direct video so you don't have to watch them! I spend 5-10 minutes watching the trailers and about 3-4 minutes reading about the summary on websites. People have to much free friggin time on their hands!

For fucks sake. Fix your broken commenting system GR. This was a reply to Bladedfalcon. If you can't fix it just switch to disqus already and be done with it.
  • BladedFalcon - January 8, 2014 8:51 p.m.

Well... this may or may not be true, but I heard from a little birdie that GR IS changing it's comment system soon... So take heart on that bit of news? XD
  • GR_RyanTaljonick - January 9, 2014 8:11 a.m.

Hey, wouldn't you know it - that's a thing that's in the works.
  • BladedFalcon - January 8, 2014 8:50 p.m.

Agreed, and frankly the trailers and info about the games is all that ultimately matters.
  • shawksta - January 8, 2014 9:37 p.m.

Obviously you know already, but they put the trailers of what happened in the direct, AFTER the direct is over, FOR those people who want to skip the direct
  • Redeater - January 8, 2014 11:09 p.m.

to = too An edit button would be nice as well....
  • Vonter - January 8, 2014 8:12 p.m.

I think from a non fan perspective it can be awkward and obnoxious but I find it quirky, usually when they use game assets to deliver a joke or announcement. It'll be better if they invited more third parties especially the W-101 direct make me interested in the game (and I think Kamiya trolled Iwata in that one).
  • BladedFalcon - January 8, 2014 8:54 p.m.

Really, seeing that all the people that have replied to this saying positive or acceptable things about the Direct presentations are all well documented Nintendo fans... (You, Shawkster, CyberNinja, and Dr. Pancakes freely admitted it's all he watches.) I'd say you're completely right: They only make sense to hardcore fans :P
  • Cyberninja - January 8, 2014 9:11 p.m.

I am also a Sony fan as well, I also watch every major event they do that is related to gaming
