Beyond: Two Souls - New video features Ellen Page filming her part in Quantic Dream's new game

No new footage, but watch how the game is made

At San Diego Comic Con we went to the Beyond: Two Souls panel hoping to learn more of about the next game from Indigo Prophecy/Heavy Rain creator David Cage. He was present at the panel alongside the star of the game, Ellen Page, and newly revealed co-star Kadeem "Dwayne Wayne" Hardison. You'll see both in the following video, but not much of the actual game, though feel free to watch this video of the actor's performance capture and do your best to imagine what it looks like.

The panel was pretty restrictive with the details, though we did find out Kadeem plays a man that watched over Page's character when she was growing up. Hopefully we'll see more actual gameplay soon, instead of just actors with dots covering their faces. Beyond: Two Souls is planned for release next year on the PS3.

I see more developers are following Naughty Dog's "act it out while voice acting" system. Can't say that's a bad thing. It worked wonders in Uncharted, so it just means more quality voice acting in other games.

If this were a film I wouldn't watch it because the concept seems utterly wank so the chances of me spending eight or ten hours as a player "directing" this shit is very unlikely. What Telltale Games have achieved in storytelling and emotional response with their Walking Dead game is way above and beyond (no pun intended) what David Cage is doing here.

I will be buying this game specifically to see Oscar nominee Ellen Page try to work with David Cage's script. This is going to be better than the time Cuba Gooding jr. went from Jerry Mcquire to Chill Factor and finally Daddy Daycare!

My respect for Ellen Page just went up a bit. Seeing her politely and professionally call out Cage on his poorly-thought-out script made my day.

It's sort of something to be expected of her. Professional actors get really involved with the plot and characters (which is part of what makes them good enough to act for a living), and they can catch things that the script writer overlooked. Plus actors also like to throw in some of their own personality, so the sometimes are allowed to mix up and/or paraphrase the lines into something easier for them to portray. This is doubly so for Ellen Page, who happens to be an outstanding actor.

Thats pretty cool! But why have all those picture things stopped working for me?! I cant change between the pictures as next/previous/arrrows/pictures dont work :(
