Best ModNation track EVER!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it's true. The ModNation track you've been waiting for is finally here. It's got jumps. It's got speed boosts. It's got varied terrain. But it's not just great as a race track. No, it's also a labour of love in homage to one of the greatest video game characters ever made.

If you've listened to TalkRadar UK #41 you'll know who I mean. Yup - Dizzy. The egg. Check it out:

Anyone my age will have grown up playing Dizzy on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum (unless you're American) and the Commodore 64. Or maybe even the NES, Mega Drive or Game Gear. Look - Weirdhenge in 3D! Sad thing is, I know no-one cares.

Above: My Dizzy ModNation track: The epitome of geek awesomeness

Or how about these other references?

Above: The beanstalk and Wizard Zaks' Castle, all handmade

Above: Zooming through the Yolkfolk's treehouse village

Above: No boarding the boat until it's moving!

Wanna play it? Just search for 'Dizzy's Yolkfolk Resort' or 'CatGoneCrazy'. Oh yes, didn't I mention? I made this track. So the headline may be slightly subjective. How will you know if you don't try it? You can also download my other mastertrack - Sheephenge. I don't have a thing for Henges, mind. Or Dizzy. Well, maybe a little soft spot for the gloved one.

Modnation is an amazing game. Probably better than Treasure Island Dizzy. But you can decide that for yourself.

Above: It's amazing what ModNation racers allows you to build

Have you made an amazing homage to your favourite game in ModNation Racers? Let us know in the comments and we'll take a look.

Justin Towell, I tip my (metaphorical) hat to your asstounding creativity.

@cctvlin Don't put your advertising SHIT on GamesRadar. Unlike IGN, we LIKE our community, and we actually WANT IT TO STAY UP. We don't need your shitastic products lagging this awesome site to the ground. F*** off, and don't advertise here. All you get is a bunch of shit.
  • Spybreak8 - June 6, 2010 10:48 p.m.

No idea who Dizzy was but I did push an Egg through levels as a Penguin on the Sega Saturn! Cool track, you can see a passionate designer behind it.

If someone designs a "Hello Kitty Island Adventure" (you know, the one that Butters likes better than WoW) I'd consider getting a PS3 slim and the game, just to play it (well, and Dizzy's Yolkfolk Resort, too) ;-)

Way to pimp your track Justin
  • QWERTYCommander - June 4, 2010 11:27 p.m.

Wow. This actually made me want the game. Not the demo. Seriously, that one was restrictive even for a demo.
  • Tommykrem - June 4, 2010 8:41 p.m.

Well, I have made a level with dinosaurs. "Land of the Dinosaurs" as it is called. (It's really just very big crocodiles and other animals) But I think it's fun. I will definetly check out that level, since it looks very, very cool! Try mine if you wanna.
  • Evil_AppleJuice - June 4, 2010 7:12 p.m.

@dante1924 I have. I've been reporting them. I wish GR could just ban the accounts. Or maybe they have been. Oh well, i agree its obnoxious. @justin Cool track! even tho i dont know who Dizzy is...
  • dante1924 - June 4, 2010 6:40 p.m.

Wow, really cool track! I plan to get the game soon, and I'll be sure to check out this course! Can't wait to create my own elaborate tracks! And even though I'm from the states, I heard of dizzy for some reason. Sorry for going a bit off topic here, but has anyone noticed the abundance of spambots lately? It's driving me nuts!
  • sleepy92ismypsn - June 4, 2010 6:20 p.m.

The only time i've ever hear of dizzy was in a recent talkradar uk podcast. This doesn't look like the best track ever even for modnation racers. People have only been creating tracks for a couple months now so if this is the best it will be topped soon.
  • EricBratcher - June 4, 2010 6:07 p.m.

Note to our US readers: It's perfectly normal for you to be scratching your head and asking "Who the HELL is Dizzy?". As Justin mentions, the Dizz was strictly an overseas phenomenon. While Dizzy was knocking about on the Spectrum, we were all arguing about Atari 800 versus Commodore 64. This was, by the way, a ludicrous argument. The Commodore 64 ruled all.
  • Joshin69 - June 4, 2010 2:57 p.m.

Such a whore! But fair play to you Justin, looks like a great track. Hope it gets the hits.
  • airules - June 4, 2010 2:49 p.m.

This is a pretty epic track. Dizzy needs a hd remake collection!
  • frmonth - June 4, 2010 2:31 p.m.

That must have taken some time to create, nothing less then a labour of love it seems.
  • breener96 - June 4, 2010 2:28 p.m.

Well that was... interesting. Very impressive that you hand-made those things! When I rent the game I'll download it :)
  • bluscorp - June 4, 2010 2:26 p.m.

Lol, loving the shameless advertising Justin, I'll be sure to download it when i get the game.
