John Marston fans listen up, because a new project dubbed "Red Dead Redemption V" is probably as close to an HD Red Dead Redemption remaster as we're ever going to get. And for you PC players, it's almost like finally getting RDR on PC. The mod, which has been in development for more than two years, is the entire map from 2010's cowboy epic, transposed into GTA 5.
Nice.
RDRV has been in development for two years, and is expected to enter beta this summer. It's designed only for single-player, so no tampering with the world of GTA Online, you rascals. It'll be 2GB in size and will contain "additional content" set to be revealed later on.
It's not clear if RDRV will just transpose models and the environment or if you'll actually be able to play through the story as well, though I'd wager the former simply due to how much work would be involved (not to mention legal repercussions) with porting all of RDR.
In any case, we won't have to wait long to learn more: a trailer is due tomorrow, April 21.
Hey, at least it's (in a way) some new solo content - whatever happened to GTA 5's single-player DLC, anyway? But if you'd rather have something more official, there's always Red Dead Redemption 2 to look forward to.
