Prime Day gaming laptop deals are actually still going strong, even though the event officially closed out at midnight on October 8. I'm still seeing a number of rigs with hundreds of dollars off their MSRPs - across not just Amazon, but Best Buy and Newegg as well.

That's because competing retailers are actually extending their Fall sales until October 12, which means there's plenty more time to shop the highlights. Amazon still has a few horses in this race, but I'd look to more PC-focused retailers for the widest range of offers available.

You'll find all the Prime Day gaming laptop deals still live right now just below, but we're also getting prepped for this year's Black Friday gaming laptop deals as well. There's plenty more where that came from.

Alienware 16 Aurora 16-inch RTX 5060 gaming laptop | $1,499.99 $1,099.99 at Dell
Save $450 - The Alienware 16 Aurora is Dell's cheapest gaming laptop, so this tempting $400 discount on an RTX 5060 configuration is always welcome. You're still paying a little more here compared to other brands, but Alienware always has a few extra pennies attached.

What to expect from October Prime Day gaming laptop deals in 2025

Razer Blade 16 2025 gaming laptop running Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS enabled

I'm optimistic for some heavier discounts in October's Prime Day gaming laptop deals. These machines have been a little more resistant to discounts in 2025 so far, even RTX 40-Series devices aren't dropping their prices like they used to.

However, prices have been dropping much further in the last few months. July's offers started this movement, but things are picking up pace rapidly now. July's discounts brought us some of the lowest prices of the year of RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 rigs, and I'm expecting more of the same this Fall.

Not only that, but with RTX 5050 and RTX 5060 rigs a little more established on the shelves we could see cheaper machines dropping their prices much more this October.

If you're going all out on a new-generation device, I'd recommend watching the 2025 Razer Blade 16 and 2025 Asus ROG Strix Scar 18. These are two of the most powerful rigs I've tested so far (alongside the uber-expensive MSI Raider A18 HX), but they've got the price tags to match. The Razer Blade 16 has dropped up to $600 off its cheaper configurations in the last few weeks and, while a little rarer, the Asus ROG Strix Scar 18 has seen its fair share as well.

If you don't need a full RTX 50-Series system, but want a new-gen display last year's Razer Blade 16 (2024) is also well worth keeping an eye on. This is still an impressive machine (using the same OLED as the newer device), and remains one of the best Razer laptops on the market right now. These rigs are a little more difficult to find, but open-box clearance events are going to be your best friends this summer.

Elsewhere, the HP Omen Max 16 (my overall favorite 2025 release), Alienware 16 Area-51, and Alienware 18 Area-51 are all ready to return to record-low rates over Prime Day, with final costs ranging from $2,399.99 to $3,299.99.

At a mid-range level, I'm going to be paying close attention to the Asus ROG Zephyrus G14 2025 and the 2024 version. The older release is pretty much open-box only right now, but is worth keeping an eye on if you play lighter games and need an all-in-one work and play device. However, if you want to push past the RTX 4070 GPU class, you'll need to take a look at the RTX 5080-toting new release. This is a $3,000+ gaming laptop at MSRP, but it will only take $200 to nudge it under that threshold this October.

At the budget end of the spectrum I'd recommend sticking close to the MSI Thin and Asus TUF A14. The former is regularly available for between $599 and $799 with an entry-level RTX 4050 or RTX 4060 GPU and is a firm favorite during larger sales events. The latter impressed me with its value last year and represents one of the best Asus gaming laptops for cost-efficiency in 2025. An RTX 5060 configuration comes in at around $1,500 at full price, but if it follows the pricing trajectory of previous years that could hit $1,199 - $1,299 over Prime Day.

FAQ

When will October Prime Day gaming laptop deals end?

At Amazon, October Prime Day and its gaming laptop deals will run until October 8 and end at midnight local time tonight. But with this kicking off the deal-packed road to Black Friday, future discounts won't be far away. Both Best Buy and Newegg will continue sales until October 12, meaning there's a slightly wider window to score the perfect gaming laptop if you're happy to shop away from Amazon.

Do I need a Prime Membership to access Prime Day gaming laptop deals?

In order to make the most of the Prime Day gaming laptop deals, you'll need to have an Amazon Prime membership - and that goes for this October's Big Deal Days as well. Fortunately, there's a free trial available in both the US and UK for you to give the service a try risk-free ahead of the event. Through it, you'll have access to not only next-day delivery but also the company's coveted video service.

What's important to state, though, is that many other retailers will be vying for some attention of their own, as we generally see storefronts such as Dell, Walmart, and Best Buy (US) as well as Currys, Laptops Direct, Box and Argos (UK) getting in on the gaming laptop deals action.

Should you buy an RTX 50-Series gaming laptop on Prime Day?

Many gamers in the market for a new portable rig will be looking to this summer's Prime Day offers for their first round of discounts on 2025's RTX 50-Series releases. However, whether you should jump in for the upgrade this summer comes down to the machine you're using at the moment and how quickly you need to upgrade.

What are you using at the moment?

If you're already using an RTX 40-Series device you generally won't need to buy a new gaming laptop on Prime Day. This year's updates include very minor native rendering improvements, with tech largely focused in improving Nvidia's DLSS experience. While I have noticed more performance benefits in the cheaper RTX 5070 and RTX 5060 ranges, the leap isn't enough to justify a four-figure price tag by itself.

If you're still running an RTX 30-Series machine then your answer is less clear cut. Yes, 2025 gaming laptops are the best on the market right now, but because of the relatively small changes under the hood last year's RTX 40-Series offerings are still in the game. They are, however, far fewer in between - and prices sometimes rival those of RTX 50-Series models. You might also miss out on some features like high refresh rate OLEDs and multi-frame generation.

How quickly do you need your gaming laptop?

If you can hold out until Black Friday Proper you will, in all likeliness, find better prices on the shelves. Later sales are a much bigger deal with heavier price drops and more widespread savings.

Of course, if your current rig falls apart as soon as you load up your favorite game then you'll benefit from the extra weeks with your gaming laptop.

Do gaming laptops go on sale on Amazon Prime Day?

They certainly do, but here's the kicker - I generally see the best deals off Amazon. In the US, Best Buy, Dell and Newegg have all traditionally offered a wider range of gaming laptop deals during Prime Day, and Amazon's own sales can feel a little underwhelming by contrast. If you're in the UK, I'd recommend watching Ebuyer, Currys, and Very.

If you're after something more substantial, we're also getting you ready for this year's Prime Day gaming PC deals and Prime Day monitor deals. Or, take a look at the Prime Day tablet deals we're expecting for something lighter.
