Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt join Muppets movie

The Muppets

British talent has arrived on The Muppets , with both Ricky Gervais and Emily Blunt confirmed to be cameoing in the new muppet movie.

They join a frankly gargantuan – and ever-growing list – of actors who will be appearing in the film alongside stars Jason Segel and Amy Adams.

Though Gervais and Blunt’s roles are being kept under wraps, we know that Jack Black will play himself as a kidnap victim, Alan Arkin will appear as a tour guide, French Stewart is playing a watch salesman and Zach Galifianakis is taking on the role of hobo Joe.

Meanwhile, Billy Crystal, Jean-Claude Van Damme and Kristen Schaal are all confirmed, while previous rumours have linked Sean Penn, Lady Gaga, Danny Trejo and Donald Glover to the film.

And that's all before our colourful fluffy friends even get a look in.

The Muppets follows Segel’s Gary and his muppet friend Walter, who go on a trip with Gary’s girlfriend Mary (Adams) to defeat oil tycoon Tex Richman (Chris Cooper).
