New Rift: Planes of Telara trailer revs up the MMO's hype machine

Is the gaming world big enough for another high-profile MMO? That's what Ubisoft and Trion Worlds are banking on as they ramp up promotion for their 2011 release of Rift: Planes of Telara with a new, hyperbole-filled beta trailer.

The trailer showcases the many ways Rift is planning to shake up the online scene, and comes just two days after Ubisoft penned a multi-year deal to distribute Rift across Europe. And, after slinging around phrases like, “Rift is the complete next-generation of online gaming,” and, “It's the MMO with everything you want, taken to the next level,” it's evident that both Ubisoft and Trion Worlds have high hopes for the new MMO entry.

Rift is on track to ship worldwide early next year. Registration for the beta has already begun at the game's official website.
