Hugh Jackman won't be Snow White's Huntsman

Snow White and the Huntsman continues its run of bad luck with the news that Hugh Jackman will not be taking a lead role.

The actor entered negotiations with Universal after Viggo Mortensen left the project, but now The Wrap have confirmed that talks with Jackman have ended.

The lack of a lead puts Rupert Sanders' movie even further behind Tarsem Singh's rival property, which is gradually gathering pace.

Snow White and the Huntsman currently has Charlize Theron locked in as The Evil Queen, and Kristen Stewart is set to play Snow White (though according to The Wrap's report, she hasn't officially signed on yet).

Singh's version boasts Lily Collins as Snow White, Julia Roberts as The Evil Queen, and Armie Hammer as the dashing prince.

No reason is given for Jackman's decision, although he is currently busy trying to find a director for stalled X-Men Origins sequel, The Wolverine .
