First trailer lands for horror pic The Gallows

The first official trailer has appeared online for The Gallows, the buzzy indie horror film that was recently snapped up by Blumhouse Pictures and Warner Bros. And guess what? It’s bloody terrifying.

The new film is set in a high school some twenty years after an accident caused the death of the lead actor during a student play. When a new crop of aspiring thesps attempt to stage a new version of the show their intention is to commemorate the anniversary of the tragedy… but as it turns out, they should probably have given this particular production as wide a berth as possible.

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

Creepy, dread-filled stuff, we think you’ll agree. The film was produced independently by Travis Cluff and Chris Lofing, with Blumhouse and Warner swooping after a rough trailer went viral after being posted on YouTube

Co-starring Cassidy Gifford, Pfeifer Brown and Ryan Shoos, The Gallows will open in the US on 10 July 2015 and the UK on 4 September 2015.
