James Wan's 2013 remix on haunted house horror swept up a tidy sum at the box office - $318 million to be exact. Big bucks aren't always a sign of quality, and yet The Conjuring earned a deserved round of applause from critics and a quivering thumbs up from audiences. So it's with little surprise that a sequel is now en route in the hopes of scaring the pants off moviegoers once more.
The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist continues the tale of the Warrens, a paranormal investigator couple played by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga whose real life experiences inspired the first movie. The follow-up relocates their efforts to an English suburb based on one of their most notorious cases - and the first teaser trailer is here to whet your appetite. Check it out below...
The original spun a new twist on a tired trope and this teaser suggests we're in line for a similar strain of fear. Well, it does include mostly recycled footage from the previous movie. Future trailers will no doubt shed a little more light on the actual story itself, that's set to explore a house in North London whose inhabitants are plagued by an evil spirit. Which is to be expected.
The Conjuring 2 opens June 10th in the US and June 17 in the UK.
