Bob The Musical gets Phil Lord and Chris Miller

Phil Lord Chris Miller

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller are currently in talks to direct comedy Bob The Musical.

The duo are negotiating with Disney to develop the film, which has had the likes of Adam Shankman ( Hairspray ) and Mark Waters ( Mean Girls ) both come and go over the years.

Bob revolves around a normal bloke who suddenly begins to hear the inner songs of everyone’s hearts after receiving a bash on the head.

In an instant, his entire world is turned into a musical – much to his dismay. Hairspray musical writer Marc Shaiman is providing the songs.

Miller and Lord would presumably take Bob on as a follow-up project to their redo of 21 Jump Street , which is set to shoot with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum in the spring.

The plot of Bob sounds pretty fun, and it's easy to see why so many directors have been attracted to it. We're assuming the whole thing pretty much hinges on landing a lead guy who can stop the story frothing into a saccharine mess - Christopher Walken, could this be another one for you?
