ADR1FT channels the beauty and oppressive terror of deep space

"Manual oxygen refill required."
The Game Awards 2014 apparently has a thing for spooky space stations. But unlike Tacoma's luna base, the space station found in ADR1FT, the upcoming first-person exploration game, is much less intact. The teaser trailer shown opened with an astronaut in bad situation. Alone and adrift amid the wreckage of a ruined space station, your most immediate concern is finding some life-saving oxygen.
The trailer then followed our unnamed hero as he (or she) tried to make sense of his (or her) surroundings. Apparently the station you used to call home placed a major emphasis on hydroponics since you clearly see lots of leaves, flower petals, and other foliage floating among the wreckage. The oppressive atmosphere is further enhanced the lone sounds of steady breathing and an electronic voice in ear reminding you about that manual oxygen refill. Eventually, our hero finds that precious oxygen canister, but then the trailer cuts out.
There are plenty more questions surrounding this game. What little information we have available now is contained in the slides that follow.

Does the emphasis on vegetation in the space station imply some sort of environmental trouble back on Earth?

One of the central mysteries in ADR1FT is figuring out what caused the explosion that destroyed this space station.

As the developers describe it, ADR1FT "is an emotional journey through action, consequence and redemption."
