Aaron Paul to star as young Han Solo in Star Wars spin-off?

The year may be coming to a close, but there is still time left for another new Star Wars rumour, with MakingStarWars.com reporting that one of the spin-off projects will tell the story of a young Han Solo.

According to the report, the first spin-off movie (to be directed by Gareth Edwards) will deal with Solo’s exploits before the events of A New Hope, with Disney apparently eyeing Aaron Paul for the lead role.

The report goes on to claim that Paul is interested in joining the project, although there are no direct quotes attributed. Seems like a safe bet that he’d be keen, though!

Apparently, the spin-off has been codenamed Luminac Industrial Goods, with filming likely to eventually overlap with Star Wars: Episode VIII.

We’d take all of the above with a pinch of salt until something vaguely official emerges from the studio itself, but it’s fun to speculate all the same. What we do know for sure is that the film is scheduled to hit cinemas on 16 December 2016.
