Frogs (1972)

The Hilarious Movie: The '70s and '80s were full of "nature fights back" tosh like this ropey horror film in which those eternally-wronged amphibians, the frogs, finally get some revenge on mean old mankind. Rubbish then, but amusing nonetheless.

Funniest Moment: When the tagline is a beauty like this, you know you're in for a treat: "A tidal wave of slithering, slimy horror devouring, destroying all in its path!"

The Postman (1997)

The Hilarious Movie: Kevin Costner's post-Apocalyptic slog would be mind-numbingly dull if it weren't for its horribly schmaltzy script, which livens things up considerably. Its a wonder Kev managed to keep his face so straight throughout this one!

Funniest Moment: "A Godsend," gushes one grateful customer to Kev's mail-man. "A saviour!" "No," he replies humbly. "I'm just… the postman."

The Intruder (1986)

The Hilarious Movie: A balls to the wall action thriller starring a take-no-shit mercenary named… Rambu. Yes, that's right, Rambu. A man who bears absolutely no resemblance whatsoever to Rambo. Honest.

Funniest Moment: "I'll kill you," breathes Rambu, quietly. "I'll kill you," he repeats, getting agitated. "I'LL KILL YOU!" he howls, losing the plot entirely.

Rock 'n' Roll Nightmare (1987)

The Hilarious Movie: Hair-metal rockers take on demons from the bowels of hell (via a set of possessed hand puppets) in this gloriously silly slice of '80s entertainment. As the tagline gleefully trumpets, "when the band starts to rock, heads start to roll." Radical, dudes.

Funniest Moment: The final battle truly is a sight to behold as lead rocker John Triton strips down to his kecks and kicks some ass in the campest fashion imaginable.

The Incredible Melting Man (1977)

The Hilarious Movie: A baffling tale of a spaceman who got too close to the sun and has now returned to Earth to melt and kill a few people as he does so. Dreadful premise it might be, but as a recipe for point and laugh fun, it doesn't disappoint.

Funniest Moment: One poor woman is so terrified of Mr. Melty that she runs clean through a glass door in order to escape him! Lovely stuff.

Deep Blue Sea (1999)

The Hilarious Movie: It's difficult to decide whether Deep Blue Sea is aware of its humorous limitations, or whether its manifold chuckles were simply a happy accident. In any case, there's plenty to laugh at in this fishy action thriller.

Funniest Moment:
It has to be Sam Jackson's untimely exit, which aims for shocking but can't help eliciting a guilty snigger. Until you realise it's now down to L.L. Cool J to carry the film…

Enter The Ninja (1981)

The Hilarious Movie: A smorgasbord of culture-clash chop-socky action, as a Ninja-trained army vet heads to the Philippines to help an old war buddy fend off an evil corporate baddie who wants to force him off his land. Hair-raising excitement, it ain't.

Funniest Moment: A white-suited patsy takes a throwing star in the chest (dispatched with a comedy whistle sound effect), roaring with agony as he takes a slow-motion slump floorwards.

Vampire's Kiss (1988)

The Hilarious Movie: Given that Vampire's Kiss is a horror-comedy, you might think that the laughs are largely intentional. However, the biggest chortles must be reserved for Nic Cage's portrayal of a man losing his mind, which is so overblown, it makes Bad Lieutenant look the picture of moderation.

Funniest Moment: His wild-eyed, office-based freakout is the stuff of legend. Cage really does know how to act with every available inch of his face, doesn't he?

Star Wars: Episode 3 (2005)

The Hilarious Movie: If you weren't an outraged fan, too blinded with rage to see the funny side, there's plenty to be amused by in George Lucas's prequel trilogy. Part three sees yet more of Hayden Christensen's ham-fisted acting, as well as a genuinely rib-tickling confrontation between Yoda and Palpatine…

Funniest Moment: With a flick of his wrist, Yoda sends Palpatine crashing across the room like an old ragdoll. Not so much a punch-the-air moment as a collapse-wheezing-and-spluttering-to-the-floor moment.

Shark Attack 3: Megalodon (2002)

The Hilarious Movie: The second sequel to noted B-movie Shark Attack is arguably the most preposterous of the series, what with its shoddy effects, half-cocked storyline and truly woeful dialogue. Indeed, it's the script that really lives long in the memory, with some lines going down in trash movie folklore…

Funniest Moment: It can only be the scene in which John Barrowman says to a startled co-star, "you know, I'm really wired, so whaddya say I take you home and eat your pussy?" Yes, that John Barrowman…
