Rumour: Iron Fist's Finn Jones will debut in Marvel's Luke Cage

Following on from last week's announcement that Game of Thrones' Finn Jones has snagged the lead role in Marvel's Iron Fist, there's now talk of when he will make his small screen debut.

Like his fellow Defenders - Daredevil, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage - he's pegged for a solo series on Netflix, but according to a new report we won't have to wait until then to see him in action. During a recent episode of Collider Heroes, Heroic Hollywood's Umberto Gonzalez reveals that the reason for the casting announcement is because Jones will debut as Iron Fist in the final episode of Luke Cage. Check it out around the 19:40 mark.

"Yes he is," Gonzalez says. "Episode 13. That’s why it was announced, or else it would have leaked … They shot him last week."

While we'd advise taking this with a grain of salt, it's not out of the realm of possibility when you consider that Luke Cage was first introduced in Jessica Jones. Seeing as Cage and Iron Fist have a shared history in the comics, bringing the martial arts expert into Cage's world first would be great fit, especially for audiences unfamiliar with the character. That being said, Marvel has yet to set dates for either show. So even if the rumour is true, we've still got a while before we see Jones suited up.
