Perhaps the most important of the ten or so units at your disposal including medics, scouts and infantry is the Hero unit. As the sole manually-controlled unit, the Hero can form up squads into single-fighting brigades and launch powerful Hero abilities like the Nutcracker (giant boxing glove to the mush) or Converter cannon (turns enemies into refrigerators). It’s silly, yet critical for shifting the tide in your favor.
In addition to the 17 mission-Campaign mode is Wi-Fi multiplayer for 2-4 players with optional co-op if you don’t feel like frying your friends. Even in its pre-Alpha state, Robocalypse looks more than ready to hit your DS. Look for a full review this summer.
