Disney has long had a 2015 release date in mind for Star Wars: Episode VII , and judging by producer Bryan Burk’s latest comments, it seems as though the studio is on track to meet that target.
We’ve heard little from inside the Star Wars camp so far, but Burk has broken ranks to give an update on the production, revealing that a 2014 start-date is on the cards.
“We’re progressing on a schedule to hopefully begin next year, or the beginning of next year,” says Burk, “and the location is still kind of floating around in the air, all depending on script and a whole bunch of other issues.”
“As I just said, everything is kind of a free-flowing thing, and when we feel like the story level on this script and everything is really coming together and schedules are all working and pieces line up, we prowl ahead, and Star Wars will be no different.”
We might not be overburdened with official news from Episode VII , but it certainly sounds as though the wheels are in motion. And while there are still no casting confirmations, this is at least a start…
Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: Episode VII is expected to arrive in cinemas in 2015.
