Viking Rise unveils exciting collaboration event with How to Train Your Dragon

You need to watch the skies in IGG's hit strategy game Viking Rise as a new limited-time collaboration event has arrived, inspired by the live-action reimagining of DreamWorks Animation's How to Train Your Dragon that released earlier this year to huge box office success and widespread critical acclaim. The Viking Rise x How to Train Your Dragon collaboration event officially launches worldwide for both mobile and PC on December 18.

If you're not already familiar with Viking Rise, it's an online multiplayer, free-building, real-time strategy game set in a Norse-inspired world that has been widely acclaimed for its authentic Viking-inspired themes and engaging gameplay. As you lead your Viking Tribe across the uncharted lands of Midgard, there are opportunities to expand settlements, form alliances, and engage in strategic warfare against your rivals through large-scale multiplayer battles.

How to Train Your Dragon originally introduced audiences to the unlikely friendship between a young Viking named Hiccup, and a fearsome Night Fury dragon called Toothless. Hiccup and Toothless join forces to try and end the ongoing conflict between humans and dragons, by proving that understanding and friendship creates a far better peace than brute force. In June 2025, filmmaker Dean DeBlois transformed his beloved saga into a breathtaking live-action spectacle, bringing Hiccup and Toothless to life with jaw-dropping realism and cutting-edge visual effects.

With Vikings at its core, How to Train Your Dragon shares a setting that beautifully complements Viking Rise. The fierce yet lovable dragons from the story are the long-awaited companions that players have been asking for, making this an exciting collaboration for fans of both the game and the movies.

Viking Rise will introduce a series of exclusive How to Train Your Dragon-themed atmospheric decor for this collaboration event, including Dragon Rally Skin and Avatar Frames, Emotes and more! These special items can be earned by participating in the event, and by consuming specific items players can summon dragons of various types, rarities, and elements. Using the Commission System and Adventure gameplay players will collect event exchange tokens, which can then be used to redeem the exclusive collaboration decor.

To celebrate this collaboration, Viking Rise has also launched a special promotional page dedicated to the limited-time event. As well as a comprehensive event overview to immerse players in the spirit of the collaboration, this page features two exciting additions – the exclusive Dragon Training Adventure mini-game, and the Dragon Egg Hatching event.
