While we've already had a sneak peek at Sherlock's Christmas Special courtesy of the trailer, fans were left guessing about the case the detective duo would face until the title of the episode was released naming "The Abominable Bride" the one to watch out for. Now we can actually take a closer look at the chilling bride (plus the rest of the gang) with the release of some new character posters - check them out above.

The Bride (not to be confused with the one in Kill Bill, obviously) remains shrouded in mystery, not only visually but there's little detail circulating on the character in general. The spooky woman, apart from scaring us with her bloodied lips, does have a bit of style going on, but we reckon her dress could do with a dry clean.

Familiar faces return for this seasonal special, including Mrs. Hudson (Una Stubbs) and Mary Morstan (Amanda Abbington) - that's Dr. Watson's missus to you and I. The Abominable Bride is written by show creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat, and will air on both the BBC and PBS on January 1 2016 and in select cinemas.
