I thought we'd see PS5 bundles in all their possible shapes and sizes towards the end of last year, but Very has launched a package deal I've never seen before today. The disc-friendly device usually fetches a £479.99 RRP at full price, but you're essentially getting it for £419 here - with a free copy of Battlefield 6 thrown in.
That's because Very's latest PS5 deal actually sits on the Digital Edition, but the retailer is also throwing in an official Sony disc drive. That turns the digital console into its full-fat sibling, and keeps a few notes in your wallet at the same time. At its £419 final price, you're even saving on the regular £429.99 RRP of the Digital Edition by itself here.
PS5 Digital | Battlefield 6 | PS5 Disc Drive | £419 at Very
Well here's something you don't see every day. In packaging in a disk drive (the same accessory that became near impossible to buy this time last year), Very is essentially offering a full disc-friendly console at better-than-Digital prices. Sneaky.
If you're after a new console but don't want to drop your disc drive, that's one of the best PS5 bundles I've seen in a long time. It's cheaper than either console by itself and still throws in one of the biggest games of last year.
In fact, I'd still recommend this PS5 deal even if you don't need a disc drive in the future. After all, it's £10 cheaper than Sony's £429.99 RRP. Just note that you won't be able to run that physical copy of Battlefield 6 if you plan on selling the disc drive on separately instead.
It's important to note this isn't the cheapest way to buy a disc-friendly PS5 right now. PS Direct still has Fortnite Cobalt Star bundles available for £389.99 this week. Pound for pound value still sits with Very, though. You're spending £40 more but Battlefield 6 still comes in at £55 on a good day.
If you don't need a disc drive at all, this is still the cheapest PS5 bundle on the web. Retailers like Currys and AO are still at £429 on these digital devices, while Very's £429 EA Sports FC24 bundle can't compare in value.
