Halo 3 - the complete story

Level seven:

The story: Arriving at the Ark, or Citadel, Master Chief and the gang make their last stand against the Brutes. It's all or nothing time.

The evidence: Whilst we've not seen any footage of the action in the Citadel, the E3 trailer does show cutscenes around the time, emphasising the struggle of the UNSC against the Covenant. We see Longsword fighters flying over the heads of Arby and MC, presumably to the rescue, and a few shots of frigates engaged in battle directly above the artifact. Miranda Keyes once again looks ready to kick some ass as we spy her dual wielding a shotgun and SMG, fending off a Brute advance.

The gameplay: Aesthetically, we've seen this all before many times in previous Halos, but expect this level to really show off the graphical beauty of the Halo and the Forerunners much in the same way as the recently unveiled multiplayer map Epitaph does. Similar in gameplay to the Halo 2 level, Sacred Icon, you'll be blowing away waves of Brutes and Covenant (and maybe the Flood) teamed up with The Arbiter, his followers and UNSC marines in one epic fight for control of the rings.
