My Time at Evershine is a real evolution of the series to date, with specific tweaks made to appeal to RPG lovers
Coming to PC and consoles in 2027
My Time at Evershine is the next entry in the My Time at series from Pathea Games, and from everything we've seen so far, it's looking to be quite the evolution from the first two games.
Speaking during the FGS Best of Gamescom showcase, Ivan Karadzhov, senior PR and marketing manager for the studio, said that expanding the concept was the exact intention from the team at Pathea Games as it approached this sequel.
"We wanted My Time at Evershine to feel like an evolution," says Karadzhov. "In My Time at Portia you run a workshop, in My Time at Sandrock you rebuilt a town, and in My Time at Evershine you build a town from scratch. You're the governor, but the background of your story is that you're studying as a builder, so all the building things that you were familiar with from My Time at Portia and My Time at Sandrock will be there, but the scale now is much bigger and much more exciting."
In order to expand your settlement you're going to have to put the graft in. The main area is filled with enemies, robots, and bandits that need to be cleared and moved on before you can start laying any more foundations. But, that's the rewarding gameplay loop here.
"For me, the most exciting part of it is that you can position everything the way that you want it," adds Karadzhov, with the most recent gameplay for the title showcasing a huge variety in what you'll be able to bring to your settlement.
We've got plenty of visual developments too, with My Time at Evershine featuring better vistas, broader landscapes, and more facial expressions – particularly important for the romance that continues to be a very important part of the game – but also trying to cater more for RPG fans.
The idea is to make the combat "more interesting and more engaging" for RPG players, along with more variation in how you build your character's combat skills and the introduction of a companion who can also come fight alongside you.
There's also now a second bar alongside an enemy's health bar, which, when depleted through combat, allows you to pull off some seriously cool 'execute' moves to take them down.
You'll be able to see for yourselves when My Time at Evershine comes to Steam and consoles in 2027. You can wishlist it now on Steam.
