GTA 6 pre-orders: everything we know so far as new leaks point to imminent listings
Talk is heating up
GTA 6 pre-orders have been on everyone's lips for a few months now, ever since the original release date was pushed back last year. With speculation swirling around $100 price points and Best Buy email leaks pointing to an imminent green light, things seem to be heating up once again.
Mere moments after publishing, Dutch retailer Game Shop Twente has been spotted posting a GTA 6 pre-order listing for €99 first picked up by ResetEra's forums. That price point is nothing to worry about just yet - this store regularly uses placeholder pages for upcoming pre-orders separate from developer and publisher input. However, the page itself could provide additional evidence that early orders are imminent.
Here's what we know so far.
GTA 6 is officially due to release on November 19, 2026, giving us six months before we dive into the world of Leonida, but we were originally supposed to be playing it this month. A May 2026 date was set initially, after a previous delay shifted the timeline from a holiday release last year. With "launch marketing" due to run this summer, and
When will GTA 6 pre-orders land?
Considering we usually see longer pre-order timelines for larger games, we could be heading into checkout territory soon. That's a rumor that's more recently been supported by leaked Best Buy emails. In the last few days multiple online personalities have stated they've received emails from Best Buy's affiliate marketing team preparing for GTA 6 pre-orders. Some, like Frogboyx1Gaming, have specific dates to shout about, with the pre-order campaign apparently set to run from May 18 onwards. This has been corroborated by a number of emails across outlets and channels.
That means we're days away from official GTA 6 pre-orders landing on the market, but what kind of rates are we going to see?
How much will GTA 6 pre-orders cost?
Rockstar hasn't yet confirmed its pricing, but many are expecting it to move beyond the standard $69.99 / £69.99. While the standard edition may not come at the often-touted $99.99 position (Take-Two's CEO somewhat alleviated those fears), it could hit at $79.99 if publishers want to move away from $69.99 at all.
It's likely that GTA 6 pre-orders are around the corner (a May start date would sit inline with the six month lead-up we tend to see from bigger releases), but it remains to be seen exactly how much we'll be paying for each edition. PC players may also be left out of this equation entirely. While that November 19 release date is standing firm for PS5 and Xbox Series X, Rockstar hasn't yet confirmed a go-time for its PC fans. That means any pre-orders we could see in the coming days will likely be console-only.
