Chronicle chronicler Max (soon people will stop putting “son of John”) Landis has swiftly taken to Twitter to clarify a colourful press release issued by Fox about a new “superhero” TV show he’ll be writing called Vigilant (hey, the guys from Pulp already had that superhero moniker covered!).
The new show (which is at script order only stage at the moment) is set to be executive produced by Homeland ’s Howard Gordon, and is described by Fox (and posted by The Hollywood Reporter ) as, “a ‘superhero’ origin story told through the unlikely point of view of a smart 20-year-old woman who happens to be a social outcast. After an honorable veteran detective is brutally coerced into working for the corrupt head of Internal Affairs, the detective's daughter plans her revenge by creating a fictional vigilante persona to take on the criminal elements within the police department and the city.”
Landis, though was quick to tweet that the word ‘superhero’ is misleading. Or maybe just downright wrong. [via Coming Soon ]
