PC gamers will get dedicated server support for Call of Duty: Black Ops. But if you want to run your own server, you%26rsquo;re going to need to use GameServers.com. Activision and Treyarch have just announced an exclusive deal with GameServers.com to provide dedicated servers for Call of Duty: Black Ops.
Speaking to IGN, Treyarch Community Manager Josh Olin emphasized that unless players want to run their own server, Treyarch-hosted dedicated servers will be free. %26ldquo;Nobody will have to rent a dedicated server through GameServers in order to play the game. But for anybody who wants to run their own server, it will be run from GameServers.com,%26rdquo; explains Olin.
Prices for dedicated servers have been posted on GameServers.com. Ranked servers with a max of 18 players will cost $14.95/%26pound;9.95 per month, while unranked servers with a max of 24 players will cost $.99/%26pound;0.66. Perks for Teamspeak or Ventrillo support will cost you extra, but discounts are offered for those who want to prepay for three, six, and twelve month plans in advance.

In other news, the co-op campaign from Call of Duty: World at War will not be returning in Black Ops.
However, executive producer Dan Suarez recently revealed that console versions of Black Ops will have two-player, split-screen multiplayer. %26ldquo;Yes, you can play split-screen on the combat training mode and on MP (multiplayer),%26rdquo; explains Suarez in an interview on Call of Duty FAQ.
